Workshops, Field Trips, and Acts of Kindness That Bring Our Mission to Life

Every year, School of the Nations comes together for Service Day — an event that engages our entire community in meaningful, real-life experiences centered on one purpose: to know, love, and serve humankind. This long-standing tradition represents, in its purest form, the mission and vision of our school. From Early Childhood through High School, students and families take part in workshops, field trips, and collaborative activities designed to offer different perspectives on service and its transformative power.
Early Childhood: Small Acts with Big Impact
At Early Childhood, our youngest students welcomed children from the São Francisco Daycare. Together, with the support of staff members and older students, they enjoyed two storytelling sessions and collaborative activities that emphasized kindness and honesty. These small yet meaningful experiences helped them connect with one another while practicing values at the heart of service.
Main Campus: Workshops for All Ages
At our Main Campus, the day was filled with creative workshops that inspired our community to act with purpose. Among them were the Dog Bed Building Workshop, where participants created dog beds from fabric pieces; the Friendship and Indigenous Bracelets Workshops; and the Seedling Station & Tree Adoption, which promoted environmental awareness and care.
Parents also played an important role in Service Day. They engaged in thought-provoking workshops such as Community Camps & Service Opportunities in Brasília and Educating to Love and Serve Humanity, which highlighted both local initiatives and the school’s guiding values.
Field Trips: Service in Action
This year’s edition of Service Day also gave participants the opportunity to join service and action projects beyond the school grounds. These included a visit to the Monte Moriá Daycare in São Sebastião, participation in Reading Reality and Field Interviews at Casa do Instituto in Estrutural, and Colorindo Brasília, a revitalization project that brought new life to public spaces in Brasília.
Building Service Across All Ages
At every grade level, Service Day reinforces the idea that students can make a difference in the communities to which they belong. Though celebrated in a single morning, Service Day leaves an enduring impact. It reminds our community that acts of service — whether small gestures or large-scale projects — shape not only the lives of those we help, but also our own. At School of the Nations, Service Day is more than a tradition; it is a living expression of our commitment to educating students who know, love, and serve humanity.
