Arbor Day

In honor of Arbor Day, students in Early Childhood had their first storytelling session under the trees

Every person sees the world from a unique perspective. At our Early Childhood Campus, our Library team helped students connect with the living voices of nature through an outdoor storytelling session.

The first storytelling project of the year was in honor of Arbor Day! Arbor Day is all about raising awareness about trees and the important role they play in our environment.

To help bring the stories to life, students and parents gathered together under the trees at the Early Childhood campus along with comfortable pillows and mats. The trees, leaves, birds, and a beautiful sunset made the perfect storytelling setting to learn more about nature.

Ms. Bárbara Vidal, our head librarian and storyteller, read two books. The first was ‘The Giving Tree’ by Shel Silverstein, and the second was ‘Eu Cresci Aqui’ by Anne Crausaz.

Both parents and children embarked on a book-reading journey. Students were fascinated by the tales told. They listened to the stories and let their imaginations soar.

After listening to the stories, students reflected on what they had learned. Hearing stories about nature allowed them to think about environmental protection practices they can apply in their lives.

After the storytelling, an unexpected surprise! Students received a packet of flower seeds.
