Nations' Marching Band

Our School Band began in 2013 with six students. Today, in classes led by Teacher, Jânsiley, our Band is made up of forty students from Grades 6 through 12.

Encouraged by his parents, Jânsiley has studied Music since the age of seven. He graduated in Music from the University of Brasilia and taught at the Universidade Católica in Brasilia. He also taught the trumpet at the Music School of Brasilia. He is a voice coach and founded the instrumental group called Mistura Fina in 2015.

One of our goals this year is to create a Marching Band and travel with our sports teams and cheerleaders to play music at sporting events. Our Music Club has two classes a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Band members play the trumpet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, clarinet, transverse flute, and trombone. For the Marching Band, we are adding more percussion instruments.

All pieces the Band will play this semester are from a movie. At our Nations Festival, the Marching Band played a piece from the movie, Titanic. It was classic and beautiful.

In upcoming presentations, the Band will play arrangements from the movies Titanic, Game of Thrones, Pokémon, Frozen, and Harry Potter.
