Nations’ Senior Earns Perfect Score in Brazilian Astronomy Olympics

Gabriel Chandler Lignelli (Grade 12) earned a perfect score in the 19th Brazilian Astronomy Olympics (Olimpíada Brasileira de Astronomia (OBA)). Gabriel, who has studied at Nations for 14 years, has taken part in the last six OBA exams and won medals in four of them.

His performance puts Gabriel in a select group of gold medal winners. Students in only three schools in the Federal District earned gold medals.

Gabriel also was selected from 800 thousand participants to take part in the Brazilian Space Journey (Jornada Espacial Brasileira) in São José dos Campus in December with keynote speakers from space research and rocket construction companies and the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology.

This year, 240 students from School of the Nations took part in OBA. Five were selected to compete for a spot in the International Astronomy Olympics. We congratulate them for their achievement.
